A Tale of Two Litter Boxes

Ever since I was banished from the basement, my litter box has been relocated to a corner of the kitchen. Now I could care less where I do my business, but this move has not been easy on Mom. She is constantly complaining about litter on the floor and zooming around the kitchen with that scary Swivel Sweeper. She should try pawing through litter and see if some doesn't follow her when she jumps out of the box. Well, true to form, Mom tried to come up with a solution. She went out and bought me the fancy Booda Dome. I overheard her telling Dad it would solve all the litter problems because it has a hidden staircase to navigate that will release the litter from my paws before I leave the box. Well me, being true to form, realized it's much easier to jump over the divider than go down the stairs. So now Mom is back to complaining about the litter yet again.

  1. Auggie, its your cousin toby. You have no idea what litter box troubles are. I have this new female in my house who wont even let me play with her even though I cover up her messes in the litter box. For a while I didnt know what to do because she wasnt even going in the litterbox and its pretty hard to cover up pee on a tile floor. I was nervous about her at first but then got used to the idea of getting some "tail" however she won't even come within five feet of me without hissing. You think you've got it bad, you only have one female to deal with, ive got two.

  2. Hi Auggie! Wow, feel good that you can even navigate that fancy cat box. When you become a geriatric cat like me it's so hard to go! I gave mom and dad a run around wondering what was happening (peeing in their bed) but finally after a while they brought a second cat box to the upstairs bathroom. DUH! Can't you see how difficult it is for me to move sometimes. I overheard that they are also putting me on something called glucosamine. I overheard that I even gained weight this month at my annual visit! Took them so long to figure this out... serves them right to have to worry about cat litter in two places now! Best wishes and lots of licks! Pepper

  3. Hmm, start peeing in their bed? I don't know if I could do that, but it is an idea. I'm glad you got your second litter box Pepper. How's that new human working out in your house? My condolences Toby. I don't know if i could share my domain with another female.

  4. Hi Auggie,

Yeah, I really didn't mean to pee in the bed. But it sure gave my mom and dad a run for their money as they couldn't decide if it was the new baby in the house, the fact that I'm old, they brought me to see if I was sick, etc... Boy, HELLO - just arthritis apparently. :) Oh, mom says thank god she has a waterproof matress pad on her bed, or I may not have ever been allowed back in the room.

Oh, the new baby is okay. I keep sniffing him. He doesn't interfere with me so far so I'm okay with it. I'm beginning to even stay in the same room with him a few minutes more every day. We'll see... I hear babies like to pull hair...

Oh and Toby - the female that visited us last year peed all over the house and mom and dad had to return her. Geezzz what is up with women??
